Sa.La. – Sagomature by Martinelli, Paolini & Co., has been operating in the metal carpentry and sheet metal processing sector since 1987. Since then, the company has dedicated itself to offering its expertise in the field of sheet metal processing and cutting.


From the construction of wooden garbi for forming to naval carpentry in iron and light alloy, Sa.La. combines thirty years of experience with continuous technological updates to ensure the highest speed in delivery execution, coupled with quality and flexibility in performance.


Today, Sa.La. is a well-established entity in the metalworking sector for Italy’s shipyards, providing sheet metal shapes and profiles under contract to numerous shipyards: Fincantieri C.N.I. (Ancona, Muggiano, La Spezia, Riva Trigoso, Palermo facilities), Mediterranea, Rosetti Marino, C.N. Vittoria, C.N. di Pesaro, G.M.G. Baglietto, Conte Viani, Eurogroup, Mec-Carpensalda, and Nuovo Arsenale Cartubi. The company is based in Viareggio, in a new facility with covered warehouses of approximately 1500 square metres and an open area of over 6000 square metres.

Services and activities

Sa.La.’s sheet metal forming and bending department in Viareggio is equipped with a significant array of machinery:


  • 3 Gigant 200t presses for sheet metal forming
  • 2 Hugh Smith 200t presses for profile forming
  • 1 naval roller for sheet metal forming with a length of up to 11m and thickness up to 30mm


These facilities enable the company to provide cutting-edge services for the creation of iron, aluminium, and steel shapes, with variable thicknesses and dimensions according to requirements.

The metal and light alloy naval carpentry works produced by Sa.La. at its Via Aurelia Sud location require high-tech equipment and high-level expertise from the staff, who offer clients a range of carpentry solutions: from sheet metal processing to metal bending and cutting, including small formats.
